Any recommendations, any concert tips, live music bars, good haunts, for Austin between Nov 9 and Nov 16? I’ll be staying right downtown near the capitol.

Thanks Keith.
That song "I'm Gone" by Weldon; was the very first song I recorded with him on his very first CD in 2006. And here we are 5 CD's later>

Cool Brooks; see ya then.
Keith that is my LDG; but looks more brown-ish when lights shine on it; like the way Dicky's looked.

Check the Contiental Club, Redd Volkhart used to play there, I don't think he has a steel any longer.

I'll be at the Broken Spoke on November 9 with Alvin Crow and the Pleasant Valley Boys, the most eclectic band I've ever worked with. And I started with Alvin in 1973!

Country, western swing, Texas 1960's rock and roll, 1960's soul/Motown. Great lead guitarist, great tenor sax man, Alvin's legendary fiddle, solid rhythm section and your humble correspondent on steel guitar (primarily C6 for this band.)

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

The Super Swing Revue Western Swing band will be at Kreuz Market in Lockhart, Tx, about 40 minutes from Austin, on Sunday, Nov 10, 12:30pm-3:30pm. We'll have the legendary and terrific Denny Mathis on steel. And the BBQ is excellent.

Then, the following Tuesday, Nov 12, the same band with he remarkable Jim Loessberg on steel will be at Sam's Town Point, 7-9:30pm. South Austin.

We are also fortunate to have a steel guitar residency in Austin. Monday nights at Sam‘s Town Point are Steel Monday. A different player or band featuring steel guitar every week. I’ll be there Nov 11 from 7-8:30.
