For anyone interested in playing traditional jazz on non-pedal steel guitar, registration opens today for the 2020 Red Hot Strings Workshop in Port Townsend, WA (May 20-24).

Last year’s workshop sold out and I expect it will again. A limited number of scholarships are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so sign up soon.
Note: You don’t have to commit to one instrument and can enroll in multiple classes throughout the week. I’ll be leading the steel guitar course, but I highly encourage dropping in on classes with the other amazing instructions, including artistic curator for the program, guitarist Matt Munisteri; guitarist Albanie Falletta; guitarist Joel Paterson; violinist Gabe Terracciano; mandolinist Dennis Lichtman; bassist Matt Weiner, and tenor banjoist Tyler Jackson.
