Paul,

I have a McVay that I play occasionally. I did a lot of refinement to suit my taste. Mine plays very well and has great tone. The builder passed away a number of years ago but his guitars can still be found here in Western Pa.

Paul,

Charlie Sr., built quite a few D10’s and several SD10’s, even a couple S10 keyless guitars. My S10 is on a 3/4 body with a narrow pad. I like it a lot but rarely play it anymore. Charlie Jr., has been a good friend since we met, back in the 70’s.

I don’t have many pictures of Charlie’s guitars. It might be fun to unpack mine and make a music file to share. Everyone seems to be doing video these days.

Donny,

Thanks. I had a sign shop design and cut vinyl for the front and back of this McVay. Charlie liked the idea so we made more conventional decals for all his guitars in an appropriate color to match his guitar colors. I have a black/silver one for this guitar if I ever need it. My last gig with this Steel was near Belize - San Pedro island at a wharf bar. Pretty cool, but I carried my Cube XL-80 in our luggage and shorted the wife’s space for swim suits.... not good!
