Hi all, My name is Tom, and I’m new to the forum, and new to the steel guitar. (As far as learning to play one) I just picked up a 60s’ National 76 Lap steel, and got it strung up. Electronics have issues. Gonna start at the output jack, to the V&T pots, and pickup. When testing the pickup, what should I be seeing as far as DC resistance with a good functioning Pup? Any Pot value suggestions, and Tone cap value Would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Moved to Electronics from Steel Without Pedals.

I believe the National 76 uses the same string through pickup that most Supro/Valco steels use. Check with Jason Lollar to see if he can answer these questions, if nobody here can provide the information you seek.

Good luck!
