Year of manufacture is 1962 according to the serial number.
National made several models. Some were fairly plain with mother-of-toilet-seat covering, others, such as the National Dynamic were fancier, more colorful. Those would be worth more. Any all-original 6 string National steel guitar with legs and case, in VG working condition would be worth at least $225 IMHO... and up to $500 or so, depending on the model and the condition. I've seen mint condition Dynamics sell for $700, and I've seen National lap steels (no legs) sell for $130. If your's has legs it's probably one of the higher end models.
