I went to see Whitey Morgan and the 78's in Raleigh Thursday night.
Brett Robinson ,his steel player, has become my favorite current player.
I thought it was pretty cool when Whitey explained to the audience how Wynn Stewart,Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard were part of a "new"style of country music back in the 60s,and how so much of that music was defined by Ralph Mooney;and how Ralph went on to help define Waylon's sound in the 70's..
Brett is Mooney- esque, damn good picker.
Go see 'em you get a chance.
