Bill, guess I'm not a Yinz, I rely on my auto spell check way too much. Sorry about that. Can you help him Bill?

Fred, maybe you can share this info with Clayton about a steel jam in his area:
https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=349768&highlight=

Also, Steve Porter, who posted, has his email at the bottom of the post. He might get Clayton some help prior to the jam on Oct. 20.

He could always come to the PSGA show in Norwalk, CT on November 10th. There will be steel players from all over there. Buck Reid and Robby Turner are the headliners. Also, Jim Cohen from PA will be there too with the Linda Ronstadt Revue Band.
Tell him to look up the show on the events schedule of the SGF.

Hi Fred

Here is one avenue that the new player could check out. Charlie McVay and Bill Paganie ran a steel guitar shop in Evans City, PA. I do not know if either are still involved with the shop but they both live in the area and are fine players. They gave lessons at the shop as well.

I think they are both members here on the forum and they are both listed under their names on facebook.

Fred, if the guy needs help getting going on E9, I do exactly that via Skype, and have a few openings in my bi-weekly schedule. Pass on my email to him, please: steelguitarlessons@earthlink.net. If affording lessons is a show-stopping problem, and he's a younger guy that meets our criteria, Steel Resolve can help with the lesson funding.

All best,
John McClung

McVay Music is still in business! Charlie and Bill are top notch guys, I always take my guitars to Charlie. Store is located in Cranberry, off I-79 on Route 19.

Fred, I'm located in Pittsburgh. There is a small community of steel players that would be happy to help a new player. Shoot me an email or PM to discuss further

I got the guitar a couple days ago and have been trying get as many hours behind it as possible.
It sounds and plays great, and Fred has been beyond helpful.
