My vertical lever on my Mullen keeps slipping upward. I've tried Loc tite on
the threads, but it still slips. Would
tightening it down real tight and putting
a doubble nut(lock nut)on it work?

Could you post a picture of the lever, Terry?
I haven't look at a Mullen in a long time, and can't remember the mechanism. |

Terry:I just had the same problem,I found small nylon washers at Ace hardware and placed one next to the nut,It gave it a little grip without stripping it out, good luck. |

Terry, my Mullen is a pre-rp so there might be some difference. When you pull your vertical knee back as you would when putting the guitar in the case, doesn't that expose a small screw that adjusts the height of your lever? |

Correct, There is a small screw that adjust the height of the lever. I can put loc tite on the threads, tighten it down real tight and it holds for a few days, then starts to work loose.

What you need is a "Nylok" screw. That's a regular screw with a plastic lockingg insert...that's made to stay where you put it! If you have the size (for example 6-32 x 3/4"), you can probably find one on the internet. If you can't locate one, I might be able to find you one. |

Thanks Donny. I'll try to find one, but I'll have to get the size from the Mullen folks. Appreciate it.

Call Mike or Del and tell them your problem and they'll fix you up. I use to play a Mullen, great people to deal with. |

I emailed mullen guitar co and asked what size the screw is. Mike emailed back and said it was an 8-32 x3/8. Evidently, we're talking about different screws. The screw I'm talking about is longer that 3/8".
I'll take the screw out and find one the same size along with a lock washer, maybe that will hold the lever in place.

Can't say anything about the size of the part you need. But!If You ever really get tired of the situation with a vertical, try the X lever on the the RKL.Works with no hesitation.Becomes part of you. No lifting either. No looking for the new guys.Am not knocking the vertical. It just isn't the only way to go.

Bill, Mike got me straightend out. I was thinkin the screw that holds the Vertical lever on, also was used to adjust the height. As many times as I've loosened that screw up, I never saw that tiny little adj screw till just the other day. So, yea, I'm an idiot, no big suprise huh?
Anyway, I got er fixed at just the right height now.
