Alan Akaka on split bar chords

By accident I ran across this Skype conversation between Troy Brenningmeyer and Alan Akaka. It was a godsend, as I have been making progress on split bar chords on my own, but this video provided a big boost and some "aha" moments. I found the demonstrations of using of the 9th chords especially beautiful. He also touches on how to get diminished and augmented split bar chords. Maybe old hat if you are well versed in theory, but perfect for an intermediate player like myself.

The stories and banter are entertaining, but the meat of the lesson starts at about 9:30 if you want to skip ahead.
