When we downsized houses a few years ago, my kind wife told me I could have the 'walk-in' wardrobe as a music room.
She forgot to mention the actual dimensions involved (I knew there'd be a catch....)
So here's a pic of my hideaway, including:
Console Steel, Six-string Reso, Fender b***o, Yamaha mini-keyboard, practice amp, record/CD player, TV/DVD player, bass boost speaker set up, CD/DVD/video collection, drum stool....and finally an old-school metronome (in case of power-outage!)
Anyone enduring similar conditions?

PS: Bottom left you can see a Tandy calculator, purchased from a Radio Shack store in the UK in 1982, and still going strong! |

Yeah Radio Shack.........sure miss that store! My foreman bought the first calculator in the shop. I think it was a Texas Instrument one. It added, subtracted, multiplied and divided.......and that was it! We younger guys were in awe! He paid $200 for it. That calculator today can be bought in a Dollar store for.... yup, $1.
Hey Tony, don't put on any weight! ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

Ok, maybe I should appreciate how lucky I am....she even came with me to Louisville for an IBMA awards night a few years ago.
(Actually, it was a trade-off, after that we had to visit Graceland, that was the deal!) |

I just wish my music space was as organized as yours. Looks like you've got everything you need right there. |

Man, I would just get an iPad and eliminate the need for almost all of the stuff you mentioned. You could mount it on the wall right above your steel. I use the iPad for a metronome, tuner, drone, practice tracks, amp/fx modeler and a virtual mixer to bring it all together. You can simply run the output through any small laptop speakers or a small amp. I run it all through either headphones or a small practice amp about the size of a lunchbox.

My wife and I got a good laugh out of your pic, Tony. I had an almost identical situation for several years until I asked for permission to move my amps and guitar cases from the garage into my former music room/closet. I have now pretty much laid claim to our spare room. The pedal steel is set up along another wall with a view out the window of our little hillside.

There's a common theme here.... maybe it's time we all grouped together and laid down some demands. It's time to show who's boss!
Er......you go first..... |

OK, Ashley.... looks like it's just you and me making a stand. We'll draw up a master-plan.... I'll be in touch just as soon as I empty the dishwasher and Hoover out the car. |
