Just about any decent OD or Distortion pedal will do that to varying degrees, and everyone has their favorite. Some players even run an OD in front of a Dist pedal, if the signal is going into a clean amp. If you are new to the effect, couple whatever one you decide on with an eq pedal right after it in your fx chain. That will allow you to boost or cut frequencies in ways that a tone knob can’t, and get you both the tone and the drive effect you’re looking for.
One thing to remember about adding a drive type pedal to a psg rig is the effect a volume pedal can have on it. If you place your drive after the VP, the less volume going into the drive, the less drive effect there will be in your sound. Some people like being able to control the amount of drive with the VP. I don’t. I always want my drive pedal signal maximized, so I put it before the VP in my signal chain. If you find it more convenient to place the drive pedal after the VP, you could instead set the volume level on the drive pedal to accommodate a maxed-out VP.

They don't make them anymore but you may find them for sale.
A Boss SD-2. Has the tone controls and is an overdrive more than it's a fuzz.
But if "fuzz" is the thing, the Boss FZ-2 will not only give you old timey fuzz, it will make any amp louder. Some use this pedal just for that purpose and amazingly it works even without fuzz.
They don't make these anymore either but they may be out there for sale.

Do not use that top setting. Ever...
Looks like the Focus buttons got toasted somewhere in its past. Probably some kind of bass-tightening thing that you’d never use anyway.

I'm using two now, after years of buying, trying, selling... two because two is better than one ! Two allows for 3 different tones, None, Some and More ! The Sparkle Drive has been my goto pedal for over a decade now. I recently acquired the Nobels ODR-1 ,(the original green one) totally different drive tones.

When I use fuzz, I like to have it in the chain before my volume pedal so I can swell the fuzzed sound. If the volume is first, the fuzz acts as a compressor and the volume doesn't really change, it just makes it more or less distorted.
For that reason, I like the Mahoney Buzz Tone (based on the old Boss Tone) which plugs directly into the guitar jack socket. Also, it sounds great.

I like the BB PREAMP by Xotic. Also Fulltone PLIMSOUL. Sometimes I put a compressor first in the chain and use it as a boost, sometimes I use distortion before AND after the volume pedal just for different feels.

So many boutique fuzz pedals to choose from. I love my Monsterpiece Tonebender Clone, MJM Tonebender MK 1, my Dunlop Fuzzface clone, my Ashbass Moesrite fuzz clone, my Maestro Fuzz Clone....
My friend brought over a Spaceman Fuzz and the thing sounded unbelievable. A good budget fuzz that's caught my attention is the Keeley Fuzzbender. |

Monsterpiece is a super great and very affordable choice. I love everything he does from OD's to fuzzes. His Bosstone is tops in my book and I've tried many. Unreal build quality all around.
