Last night I played my 3rd gig with my 68 Sho-Bud. This guitar is so amazing. It has "That Sound" that us old guys love so much. Bobby Flores and I describe it as a silkyness with a sparkle on the high end. And the low end is really punchy. In my over 50 years of playing I've only played a handful of guitars that had it. Randy Reinhart's Emmons wrap around, Bobby Flores' wrap, The Blade, Lloyd's lightning bolt Sho-Bud and a couple more Sho-Bud Permanent and Fingertips. I'm really loving this guitar. Again, big thanks to Harry and David Jackson for bringing it back to life better than it was new.

I would brag too if I had that gorgeous tone machine. Man she's a beauty. Hope I get to hear you play at some point in the near future. Are you booked at the Mt. Vernon illinois show next April? Or the Texas Jamboree in 2020? |

Thank you Larry. I'm not booked any shows for 2020. I was invited to the show in Phoenix but have a conflict so I can't go. As to the Dallas show, I haven't been booked on it in several years. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

I recently got an early sixties Madison permanent that could almost be your guitar's twin as far as looks go. The original mechanism works amazingly well, especially after a bit of tweeking. But the sound is just like you describe. Absolutely great.
I think there's something about the rosewood necks and aprons with the maple deck and that great permanent changer that gives a tone that you just can't find anywhere else. I believe that the rosewood gives it that little bit of extra growl and grit that the all maple guitars (good as they are!) just don't have.
Anyway, congrats on a great looking rebuild!
