Just got a used Gold Tone LS-6 (2012 model). It is pristine but missing the bridge cover screws. Though I may never use the cover I like to keep things original and need help identifying the two screws. I have studied online pics and can only conclude they are round head phillips. I need a size.

I reached out to Gold Tone to see if they sold the screws or could advise me of the size I need...but nothing but crickets.

Thanks!

Why not carry your Gold Tone into your local hardware store to determine and purchase the machine screws that fit correctly?

I don't know if they are machine screws (bolts) or wood screws and employees at my hardware store are somewhat...limited. So I was asking for some expertise here.

I'd agree with Jack's comment. Take your guitar to the local hardware store and see what fits. From the photos online, it appears to be a standard screw type.

I will try it. I have determined that it does not take a wood screw: No bottom to the hole and the control plate is threaded. Thanks.

On my Gold Tone 8 string, the screws are 6/32 by 3/8 (top to bottom). Oval countersink Philip head.

CORRECTION. The screws are 5-40. I have some coming in and will mail them to Mike as soon as I get them.

The clearance on my bridge is so tight, when I change strings, I have to loosen the bridge in order for the string ball ends to clear. Anyone else have this experience or can recommend a fix?

Thanks!
