I host a monthly Beatles workshop here in Cloverdale. This month we're going to do A Hard Day's Night. After listening to Randy Bachmann's demonstration on YouTube, I made a web page about the opening chord for our workshop players. Comments?

The “easy bar” and “thumb wrap” chords sound pretty good together. Is that in the Bachman video? Good alternative, regardless.

If you only have one guitar in the band, the “easy bar” chord in your chart is close but no stogey. I would play that same bar chord, but with finger 3 on string 5 at fret 5, further emphasizing the D note with the bass. It’s still a G7sus though. Without the A note it is not the G11 on the record, but I think it sounds better than the big 12-string G11 by itself.

You're probably right, Fred. The low C can come from the other guitar.
