Jackson guitars are top notch ! They definitely have more of a woody shobud tone, but more modern. the mechanics on them are exceptional. I barely had to tune mine when I owned it, and the pedal and knee action was super fast. I ended up selling my blackjack custom because I prefer a more Emmons-like tone, but I often regret selling it as it was a great reliable gigging guitar that sounded great,. The string spacing was also slightly wider than my emmons which threw me off a bit...

I bought one, to sell for a friend, wish I had kept it, but I already had 3. So it went away, so my friend could get his cash out. Nice guitar, smooth as butter... stays in tune. You will enjoy it.

I got to play a lime green Jackson black Jack a few years ago at the Mesa show and it was pretty incredible,I spent about 10 minutes on the guitar and it spoke to me...wouldn't hesitate owning one.

I own and gig a Jackson Blackjack 4 and 4 almost every weekend. They are great guitars and when I have had an issue, I contacted David Jackson and he helped me get my issues resolved. One was a pickup replacement due to damage I did on accident and one was a leg socket that had a broken weld. He walked me through removing the end plate and sending it to him to be fixed, at no charge, as he said it was a defect and shouldn't have occurred.

If I wanted/needed another guitar I would not hesitate even a second to own another Jackson. They make great guitars, stand behind their work, and are really nice folks.

I had a beautiful black jack custom that rang like a bell, the jackson family and company was great to work with if need be, I only sold mine because I wanted D-10 but I miss the tone of it often,
