It was a rare treat for me to set up and pick beside my hero and mentor, Mac Atcheson (on my right) and my new friend (then) Bill Cunningham (still my friend).

We had some of our best buds on stage with us including Sid Manley on guitar, Wayne Smith on bass, Wayne Stowers on drums, Gerald Doster on vocal and others.

Thanks for digging that out Bill. I will never forget that day. Wayne and Jeannie Smith picked me up that morning after they had insisted I go participate in a my first steel show. I was playing with him and Sid at the time. I was a nervous wreck and am surprised my part was not worse than it was. My hands were shaking the entire set.

It was a honor to share the stage with Mac and you. Where does time go?
