RAINS GUITAR --- A while back when I changed strings I took the roller nuts out to polish the shaft and oil and I dropped them and can't seem to get them in order.I get a lot of buzzing 1st to the 5th fret and have to push down hard on the strings. The height I can feel is uneven running my finger across them. Is there a secret to getting them back in order ? I tried several difference configurations but no cigar? Any help would be deeply appreciated .
The guitar is around 5 years old and I don't think they are gauged.
Thanks Denny |

My 2010 Rains did not have gauged rollers. I've since put Legrande rollers on the C6 neck. Gary Carpenter said he did not use gauged rollers! |

Looks like you could measure them with a dial calipers and sort out the sizes if there is a difference. |

I'm with Larry on this problem. If you are the 2nd owner of the guitar, It may have had a set of gauged rollers installed after market.
Measure each string, Lay out a diagram on a piece of paper of each string and diameter and compare the diameter of the groove in each roller with string diameter to see if they may be gauged.
This may allow you to figure out if there is different size rollers.
Good Luck in getting this problem solved and back Happy Steelin. |
