Hi,
Here’s a good question for you Lloyd Green buffs (perhaps you, Ricky?) regarding a tune I heard off a YouTube from a 1995 ISGC performance that Lloyd Green gave.
The tune is called “A Bit of Green” and is a piece that Lloyd wrote but said he never recorded. A really lovely waltz and starts in the YouTube below at about 8:45.
Two questions I have about this lovely waltz. First, does anyone know of any other (probably live) recordings that might be out there of Lloyd (or perhaps even others)? Secondly, a total shot in the dark, but has anyone tabed this?
If you have never heard this piece and are in the mood for a pretty waltz, I encourage you to give this a listen.

Mark

That tune was later renamed "Hogan's Dream and was released on Lloyd's Revisited Album. There is tab for it on Walter Stettner's (sp?) website. That is the Lloyd Greeen Tribute website. There are seeveral of Lloyd's gems tabbed out in a separate section of the website.

Jan Jonsson's tabs are incredibly accurate.

Have fun, here is the link

Thank you SO much, Mark!
That’s GREAT information and a great resource. I thought that tune was just way too good for him to just blow off recording it, but in the YouTube vid, he says (following the tune) he “wished” he had gotten around to recording it, but never did.
Pretty sneaky changing the name, though! Mr. Green

Interesting note on this.
There is another video of him performing this piece three years earlier (1992), again at Scotty’s and he refers to the the tune as “Hogan’s Dream” then, but he introduced it as “A Bit of Green” in the 1995 performance. The 2003 release of his album “Revisited” has this again as “Hogan’s Dream”. So It seems like it changed names then changed back. Odd.
A truly lovely tune by any title.
