Any recommendations for nearby music venues to check out? I'll be out here from Sunday the 4th to Friday the 9th.

GeorgeBoards has relocated to New Mexico, we do a lot of action in downtown ABQ,

If you have any interest in Steel Guitar (Not Pedal Steel) we could arrange a meet and greet - lunch sort of thing, and show off our makers space facility where we CNC our body blanks, and much more.

They have a class room where we can bring a few of my Steel Guitars to show and tell a few stories, and of course some Texas Sized Lies too.

Any other forumites that see this post and would like to drum up a get together so to speak, are welcome to chime in.

George that's a generous offer and I may take you up on that. I'll check with my hosts and see what our schedule looks like. I've benefitted from your DVD's and generally from your advice on the forum and would love to see the makerspace. My dad doesn't play but is a machinist who I'm sure would be interested too. So I'll get back to you soonest.

Thanks!

Jim

Jim, hook up with George if you can. Also, check the Casino listings, some of them have live music. There is free live music on the Santa Fe Plaza some lunch-times and most evenings all summer. For a schedule and more info, look online for Santa Fe Bandstand. It´s a long drive north of Bernalillo, but Angel Fire has a week of music coming up soon. Also, there is lots of Classical Music in Santa Fe, but tickets usually go early and fast. You can check the New Mexican newspaper online for entertainment news.

HTH. Have a Good Trip! Cool

Whew! Well it's been a few weeks since NM and the dust is still settling on a bunch of family stuff since I've been back. Many, many thanks to George Piburn for the welcome to Albuquerque and the Makerspace tour! Sorry we had to run out on you to get to Meowwulf that afternoon. Ya'll, FYI George is doing cool things if you weren't already aware. Beautiful instruments, and beautiful souls he and his wife both. Thanks again! Next time, lunch! And we have to work on getting in some playing!
