...is "sho bud" a registered trademark (gretsch?)?

You can bet it is, since Fender owns Gretsch, too...

Man, Fender owns a lot these days.
Back in the beginning days of makin' guitars, I can't imagine 'ol Leo EVER imagined his little company would wing up this huge. Shocked

yes, and back in those days nobody could ever have imagined the world after rampant leveraged buyouts and out-sourcing, not to mention a nation without the bell telephone co...anybody else feeling old yet?

I don't believe Fender "owns" Gretsch, per se. I understand that Fender has a distribution agreement with Fred Gretsch Co. to market Gretsch product. AFAIK, Fred Gretsch Co. has the trademarks on the Gretsch, Sho-Bud, and Bigsby names and logos.

You may be right.
But, man, have they got a lot of companies under their umbrella now. Also Slingerland, SWR, & plenty more.
