I am in the process of having my 1982 Zum Steel SD-12 Universal restored. It's the same guitar in my avatar. It was in very bad condition when I purchased it many years ago but still had tone to the bone.
Now she is getting a much needed face lift to restore her to her former beauty and style. I'll post more pics when she is done.

Doing this yourself, Ollin? How's you're playing these days?
I recently picked up an S12 Zum 7+6, but so far the left levers are too far away and it's difficult to play comfortably. Sounds fine, though. Gave up my hunt for my own Zum SD12, which Bruce highly recommended because of my extravagant copedent, when a Rittenberry SD12 fell in my lap. Currently redoing its copedent. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

Billy Knowles is doing the restoration.
I'm retired now and working in two bands. I fell in with a group of actual professional musicians so I have no choice but to get better. I guess in my case there's nowhere to go but up. _________________ Zum SD-12 Black, Zum SD-12 Burly Elm Several B-Bender Tele's and a lot of other gear I can't play.
