I just call a call from my band colleague Tom Teboe that our mutual friend, steel guitarist Wade Austin has passed away on July 20 unexpectedly.

Wade, whose correct name is Wade Dotezenrod, was a fixture at many gigs in the Seguin and San Antonio area. He was a steel player and would always come to gigs of mine to listen and good-naturedly joke and rib with the band.

I will miss him as I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face. He will be cremated, and on our next gig Tom Teboe and the River City Ramblers will dedicate our performance to Wade's memory.

Herb, sorry to hear about your friend as it sounds like he was a good steeler and a heck of a hoot. It's always tuff to loose a loved one or a good friend.
