That opening banjo roll lick that Buddy plays is my favorite Emmons lick. |

This whole group was great. Buddy brought them to St Louis a couple of times and they absolutely stold the show. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. Yes. Key of G, in the 10th fret pedals-down position
It's basically a forward roll (except for one little back-and-forth stutter at the beginning of the lick). Not tab, but hit the strings in this order. As far as timing, the ones in bold are on the beat.
2 4 2 4 3B 2 4 3B (repeat from beginning)
The same picking pattern can be used for a different sound in a no-pedals position with the 2nd string lowered (and no B-pedal). |

The BIG "E" was using a Li' Izzy as well. You can see it hanging of the end when Buddy starts singing.
