I'm planning to add neodymium speakers to my line of products for steel players (at my web site: http://www.songwriter.com/bradshaw/). What brands and models would you recommend, besides what the Eminence company touts for steel players: their ESP-15C, the TT-15 (Travis Toy signature speaker) and their PF400 (Paul Franklin signature speaker).
I'm wondering which size (12" or 15") are the most popular for those wishing to obtain a light weight speaker(?). Readers are welcome to respond here or in an email to me at tommybradshaw@gmail.com. I look forward to all your input. Thanks, ...Tom |

I'm kind of sold on the 12 inch speaker. I currently have a 12" BW in my NV112 and it handles both necks very well. |

I have a BW1501-4 Neo in my NV400. Sounds good. _________________ Show Pro #26 & #83,BJS bars,Stereo Steel,Tommy Huff cabs loaded with JBL D130's, Wampler pedals,NV112,NV400, Steelers Choice Seats |

Tom, my impression [long-term, not based just on the previous two posts although they demonstrate it perfectly] is that loudspeaker users (i.e. all of us!) fall into two camps and you'd need to carry both. Not the answer you wanted, maybe _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

FYI, Tom, the PF speakers are not neo.
-- 15" PF (ceramic mag) is 25 lbs.
-- 15" TT (neo mag) is 10 lbs.
At this moment in my life, cutting weight in my gigging rig is a major focus, otherwise I would have definitely tried the PF. Still may. |

I have a Quilter Steelaire Rack amp (separate) and an Eminence EPS-15C, which is my primary gigging system.
I also have a Nashville 112 with a Telonics TSNEO-12 speaker. Its very good but the 15" speaker wins out for me.
The Telonics TSNEO-12's response is similar to the Travis Toy 12, but the Telonics has more low end and not quite as bright on the high end. I tried them both in the NV112 and the Telonics won out because of more low end. I play both E9th and C6th. If I only had E9th I'd probably pick the Travis Toy 12 for the Nashville 112. |

I recently got the Eminence EPS 15 to go with my Dr Z Surgical Steel. I love the speaker. It is balanced and doesn't color the sound and looks very cool!
I bought the Eminence speaker at Dixie Speaker here in Bham. $185 new. _________________ Show Pro SD10 guitars

I also use the Eminence EPS series, both 15†and 12†, but I believe Tom is looking for speakers “other than “ the Eminence series. _________________ Show Pro #26 & #83,BJS bars,Stereo Steel,Tommy Huff cabs loaded with JBL D130's, Wampler pedals,NV112,NV400, Steelers Choice Seats |

Sica 15" bass speaker. Don't know if these are still available "new"; there are some B stock available.
I have this mounted in my Evans SE-200...very pleased with the sound all through it's range. |

So do I. I have a pair with my rack system and what I like is that when I'm playing I'm completely unaware of them. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
