Not many here are using the Fractal Audio Axe Fx 2 XL+. I have been using this for about three years now and enjoy the tweaking capabilities. I recorded a small snippet of me playing to a song using a double verb setting that is just one of multiple settings I have saved.
Basically the model is
Twin reverb
1X12 cab sm57
1x15 jbl sm57
spring reverb
delay
This is simply being played thru some studio monitors.

The guitar is one of my Emmons that Jody Cameron just refurbished. Sorry for the pedal noise. I really think that you can get great tone with these modelers.

I've been looking at the Fractal Axe III lately and have not been impressed with the Kemper editing capability and its older hardware platform. The Line 6 stuff seems way behind the modeling capability of the Kemper and Fractal stuff. Have you tried the rotary speaker sim on the Fractal?

Greg, the III is the newest one. Besides my FA, I also have a Line 6 HD500X, Avid Eleven, and a Roland floor ?. I have messed around with the rotary effect in the FA and its good. I just don't find much use for steel with it.

The Fractal is a different animal. It is really deep and has incredible tweaking capabilities. It was a bit more than the Kemper unit but I feel it was worth it for the editing.
I also bought the ground control as I have used this a bunch in worship team for other instruments as well.
