Well, after hanging out for a while and playing around with lapsteel (I'm a classical guitarist, or was, but that was decades ago so i'm startng from scratch at 50)
I decided to just start as I feel the number of my days

I'd like to find a U12 instrument

Since I'm a beginner I'm looking for something in good/perfect playing shape (For now, projects, restorations and classic with quirks I'll leave to the experts - I'd just as likely mess it up as I would fix it and I hope not to develop bad habits dealing with a quirk)

hopefully something by a currently in-business company for the same reason

cosmetics aren't really important
(i'm pretty ugly so I don't really ask any more out of an instrument)

thanks all for reading!

oh, when I said "good/perfect playing shape"

I didn't mean like picky guy perfect - I meant not going to frustrate a beginner with quirks and maintenence issues.
