In my entire musical career, the question that I have ever been asked is the question "Can you play Sleepwalk?" My response has always been "I can try". Never, as time has past, have I been able to play it as it was written because, I never had the formal training it was always by "ear". Never the less here once again, is my rendition of the most Holy Grail, of all Steel Guitar players music. Enjoy, I hope,
"Sleepwalk"

Love it, Bishop Ron!! You just ooze the blues on that one. Sleep Walk doesn't seem to get jammed on very much - mostly played straight. Lovely interpretation.
Always a fan of your posts. cheers _________________ David K |

Marvelous interpretation of this classic song.
It's obvious that you spent a lot of time creating and practicing this arrangement. Kudos. |

Hello Ronnie,
Was just taking a stroll through your youtube videos;
http://www.youtube.com/user/goldensacredstrings
I really like the style you've developed and then up popped one of my favorite tunes from when I was 16 years old, "People Get Ready" from the Impressions.
Nice take on that. I really liked what you did, but it's hard to beat the original. They were so good.
Now I feel like I need to get a version of that one down too.
Just worked out "Angles We Have Heard On High" last week. I never intended to get all religious, but they are some great melodies in those kinds of tunes. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Hi Andy (DePaule)
Thanks for the encouragement. It seems to bring the back the good old days doesn't it? Of course for me these days, and times, it is my therapy, hobbies, and memories. I`m just glad some body remembers the good old days along with me. Thanks again,

Indeed it does... The music coming from the "Motor City" at that time (Late 50's to mid 60's) was affecting almost every style in the country back then.
So many really hot groups and people like Holland, Dozer, Holland creating such a long string of hits.
Something like that only happens in a place once for a limited period of time.
I feel lucky to have been in my teens then and having that as the music score to my formative years. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html
