Tried his website, but it seems to be hacked and no response to an email.
Anyone know if he's still making bars?
Thanks! |

I can't confirm but I "heard" he had stopped due to material quality and cost.
He winters here in Florida and always came to out monthly steel jams, with bars for sale. But he didn't attend any jams this Winter. |

I spoke with Jim today and he no longer makes tone bars. He said he had trouble finding quality steel, his equipment is wearing out, and taxes becoming too much of a burden. |
This is a post from Mar. 2019 FWIW. |

That's too bad. His was the first non-Dunlop bar I bought for my console. I really liked the conical indentation in the end of it. |

That is too bad. I have one of his 12 string bars that is my go-to bar, whether or not I play 10 string or 12 string guitars. Great bar. As good, and sometimes better than most. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I have a 4" x 15/16" 12 string bar he made me about 15 years ago and it's still my main bar. |
