Hey there!
I currently have a universal tuning copedant with E’s on the left because that’s what I’m used to. I don’t really use the universal pedals because i don’t know how yet.
My style that I like to be able to play is along the lines of Greg Liesz or Eric Heywood. I know Greg uses an extended e9 tuning. The one thing i want to be able to do is strum more on the lower strings. I’m trying to get some ideas on how I can incorporate some of the sacred steel tuning but still keep my basic ABC pedal setup. I don’t use the universal pedals much so I’m open to any ideas that could help me be able to strum more and still have my basic grips(or atleast the 865, 654, 543). Is also like to keep my A+F lever position. Does anyone have any suggestions on a simple pedal that I could change when I wanted to strum kore to a rock song or just basic songs where I’m not playing licks? Thanks again in advance. I hope this makes sense. If anyone is willing to call me that would be so appreciated
Thanks

I use a lock to release the raise finger on the 7th string (F#) to E....unison with #8. Then when I raise 4 and 8 to, #7 is also pulled to F. When I drop the E's, #7 goes back to F#. This allows you to strum SS chords all the way up to the 3rd string pedals up, pedals down, and the F change with pedal #1. Get rid of the D string as you would in E9/B6 Uni, and pull the low B to a D on a KL. You will now be able to play all the "6th stuff" on the E9th neck save for the BooWah which isn't used very often anyhow. Curly Chalker never had or used a BooWah pedal.

Two things I have on my Uni guitar (8 + 8 with a zero pedal, so this is not a simple solution on a more spare setup) are:
-- an RKR2 lever that lowers 7th string F# > E and
-- the zero pedal that raises string 12 B > C# and the 7th string F# > G# so that when combined with the A pedal plus the F lever lines up all strings from 12 to 3. |
