I only now ran across the 1970s era sister group from the Netherlands named Pussycat.
Obviously some American country influence, and on their big hit MISSISSIPPI they used pedal steel.
I don't know who played steel in the video, but the picking and the music really don't match up. Nice harmonies from the ladies though.

Who recognizes the steel guitarist and the steel? _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

I don't know who the steelguitar plays in the video but on the studiorecording Frans Doolaard played the steelguitar. And that's why the video don't match up with what you see. _________________ Sjaak Hollenberg

Frans played his home-built pedal steel guitar, which also had forward moving knee levers. The pickups could drive a separate amplifier for each string. Frans was mostly a studio musician, and could play any style on pedal steel, country, pop, jazz, Hawaiian. A very kind person who sadly passed away some years ago. _________________ ----------------------------------

Thanks, Marco.
I recall a picture of Frans from Steel Guitarist magazine (I think...), and it showed that he had an elaborate system of lights connecting each string to a different amp and light.
Sorry to hear he's gone. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

I was lucky to get steelguitarlessons from Frans in the mid seventees. Every saterdaymorning i went to Rijswijk near The Hague where Frans teached me the ins and outs of playing steelguitar. And what Marco says is correct about the pickup, he had made that pickup with a friend of mine and each pole was connected to a Peavey amp. He was a great teacher and a fantastic person. He died in 2015 at the age of 83. _________________ Sjaak Hollenberg
