Steve Kimock and I will be hosting the great Hindustani slide guitar master Debashish Bhattacharya for a musical workshop on Sunday May 12 in Bethlehem, PA. Players of any stringed instrument in any style are welcome. The workshop will be followed that evening by a duo performance with Steve and Debashish.

The workshop will introduce the basic concepts of Hindustani classical music, including learning a simple raga melody, along with exercises for building technique and developing improvisational ideas in general. The workshop will be "hands-on," so participants should bring their stringed instrument. Slide is not required. The skills are applicable to any form of improvised music.

The workshop will be 12-4pm at Godfrey Daniels Coffee House in Bethlehem PA.

The fee is $85. See this link for Details.

That's Mothers Day. I'd go, but I don't think my Mom would be happy about it. Oh Well
