I met a potential student who has an Emmons student model with 3 pedals and 1 lever.

How difficult/expensive will it be to get the parts for 2 more levers? I am a machinist and have worked on my steels and made parts, but I've never worked on a push pull.

I have read that these old PP student models really sound good, so it is probably worth the effort.

Hi Lynn,

I've installed new levers on serval Emmons student model guitars over the years. I usually also install a spacer under the fret board to help with visual parallax.

My friend, Michael Yahl has just started producing some really nice Emmons PP parts.

You'd have to decide for yourself if a project like this would be cost effective for you to do.

The GS-10 guitar is a sleeper; it sounds awesome. I agree with Mr. Stafford that a spacer is a worthy upgrade. Clem Schmitz installed one on my formica GS-10 (actually, a factory "neck" from a Black Rock), and I love it. I'm presently in the process of fabricating another to install on my lacquer GS-10. Another significant upgrade is replacing the lightweight stock legs with a set of adjustable legs from a pro model. Adds additional weight and greatly enhances the stability.
