Hello-

I have been lurking here for the last 9 months. That is when I decided I wanted to learn pedal steel. I am 66 and have been playing music all my life. My instruments are sax, guitar and keys. I have played with some fine pedal steel players through the years and decided to give it a try.

You all pointed me in the right direction to purchase my first steel. I bought a Stage One from Doug Earnest. Like you all said, he is great to deal with. We are lucky to have someone as skilled as he is bringing a quality economy guitar to market. Everyone knows he could sell his guitars for more, and used ones do go for more! It's a stand-up guy that keeps his pricing down in those circumstances.

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge, I have learned a lot and am ready to actually start...bought the Paul Franklin 'Foundation' series. Here are a couple shots of my Stage One with the textured metal. Sweet!

-Alex

Great choice and a solid steel. It will make you happy. Mine does every time I play it.

That textured finish is really cool. I’m sure you’ll be as happy with your Stage One as the rest of us are with ours.👍👍
