Is anybody using this for steel? it would be great to carry as a backup amp. I used to carry a Carvin BX-500, but when they quit making amps and I read that repairs were iffy and expensive, I sold it while it was still good and before it might have to be repaired. I am carrying my Katana head now, but it is my practice amp and is another piece to carry. I want to get something else that I can throw into my gig bag. The MB 200 may be the way to go. I don't want to put much into it like a Quilter.

I tried one about a month ago. Sterile and couldn't find a setting that I was happy with. Sent it back to M/F.
Best small bass amp I've found for steel is the MB200. |

I have the MB500 and it does a good job. You'll need an outboard reverb stomp box along with it. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

I have a Black Box, Wet Reverb, and DD-3, so I think I have the effects I need covered pretty well. The Elf sounds pretty good on Gary Sill's demo video. |

I don't have any recordings yet but I just bought this one, and I'm liking what I hear. I'm using an Eminence 2112 Neo speaker in a lightweight closed back cabinet. I use a Zoom G3 for effects. If I played out anymore, I would definitely like the weight. The amp and speaker both weigh around 20 lbs. Now if I could just find a D10 steel that weighed around 20 lbs.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |
