How many pedal steel guitars do you own?
Let's limit this discussion to instruments that are fully set-up and playable, or ones that are stashed in their cases that are strung-up and playable when set-up.
Don't count basket cases or instruments that are basically buckets and/or boxes full of parts. |

I own two steel guitars, a SD10 Emmons LLG II and a SD10 Rittenberry. Both are wonderful guitars and are both set up and played every day. _________________ Emmons and Rittenberry Steel guitars plus assorted 6 string guitars |

MSA Legend XL SD10 4x5 and a Williams D10 5x8. The Williams is my home practice guitar and the MSA goes to all gigs with me. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

2. One D10 Emmons Legrande 2 that I don’t take out anymore unless lots of $, and the main one I do take out, an Emmons GS10 3x3 that I don’t bread down, just grab and go. Do most of my gigs on non pedal 10 string lap steel. If I was retired from day job I could do more pedal gigs. I would never own more that 2 pedal steels, no room. Just keep big D10 for special occasion, or if S10 goes to the shop. |

Williams set up, Excel to go. Plus homebuild in the loft awaiting sentence. Not played it for over a year and it's behind with the rent. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

I'm down to six ready to play, two in various stages of restoration, and one American Steel by Bobby Bowman that is about 50% complete. I'm gonna finish it someday in honor of Bobby. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

two, 81 Walnut Mica 8+4 P Pull and a 95 / 8+6 Black Legrande II. They get rotated for regular bi- monthly gig duty, both are workhorse guitars.
I would pull the trigger on an early issue Legrande 8+6 (or more) if one pops up for a reasonable cost. Black or brown. But, the problem would be, one of the 3 would probably live in the case. Not sure if I like that.I like them set-up. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

‘59 Sho~Bud Permanent D10 7+3
GFI keyless S12 6+6
GFI keyless S10 4+5
Derby SD10 4+5 no picture handy of that.
New EXCEL S11 4+5
Jackson Maverick HD 3+4 on order. It comes with a very usable standard copedant, no custom jobs. I think adding some pulls will be possible later.

Just my beloved LeGrande D-10 and the Zum Encore in case of a 'fly-date'.
The likelihood of a fly-date is diminishing these days as I'm only really up for sit-down shows where I can be set up for a few weeks. I'm not sure that I could command enough dollars to go through the stress of flying anywhere with a musical instrument in this day and age but I guess I'll hold on to the Encore, at least for now.
There's always the fear of a mechanical failure on my #1 guitar that would be beyond my extremely limited DIY capabilities and the Zum is a worthy second choice. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I still have only 3 steel guitars.
My "Blue Darling" Rus~Ler SD-10 that I played six nights a week for 19 years.
My little red Rains SD-10, I played for aprox. 5 years.
And my little JJ SD-10, it was the first Justice guitar I built in late 2008 and I'm still playing it today. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

I'm in the 5-10 category, which is actually embarrassing considering I don't play that much anymore. For the first 30 years, when I was playing very regularly (sometimes 5-7 gigs a week) I never had more than one. ![Oh Well](images/smiles/icon_ohwell.gif) |

Three.
Sho-bud Pro-1. Sort of retired, I pull it out every so often. Nothing broken yet, but getting a bit worn and rickety. Smallest and lightest guitar I have
Anapeg 1978. Set up at home. Never goes out except for big, safe stages. No grimy pub gigs for this one
Williams 700. My current gigging guitar[/u] _________________ Luke Drifter on Facebook
