I've had a number of Professionals and one Pro II. Sounded great! How about the Pro II Custom? Same tone as the slightly earlier guitars?

Thanks!

The Tone comes from the single/single aluminum fingers that tune with barrels and the big body 3/4" thickness of the maple. When "The Pro II Custom" came out....they did not have these features at all...so yes different; but not in a bad way and the fingers( single/single or double/single) with a PIN you hook the string on; are the great sounded aluminum tops. Then when the "Pot metal" finger tops came out(you hook the string into a groove on the finger top; that's when it was a huge tone diff to me.

An excellent question. And a most illuminating answer. Thank you, Tom and Ricky.
