Anyone out there have this DVD, and is it worth picking up? I've got a mid-70s LDG and just want to have some resources around for ongoing maintenance. I'm looking for something more in-depth beyond basic tweaking and adjustments, although that type of information would also be valuable.

Jamie, I also have a mid 70's LDG, and I also have Al's DVD. It's good info, clearly presented, and I think it will give you a very good picture of what's going on under the hood, You'll know where to look for problems, how to make adjustments, etc.

hope you're loving the ldg.

i have this dvd somewhere. from what i remember, it covers lubing the steel (with motor oil! i suggest tri flow), and string changes. he does a good run down of what each part does on different types of guitars, and touches on some common problem troubleshooting. he gives some basic advice on leaving enough play and timing the changes (though there aren't many options on the two hole puller ldg).

i feel that learning about how to set up and maintain guitars is a cumulative process, and that no hour long guitar can give you the whole picture on your particular guitar. i do think that his dvd is a good place to start, and the more detailed nuances of old buds can be picked up here on the forum.

You can also get Mickey Adams' dvd on setting up a guitar. It goes deep.

Thanks folks. I may look into the Mickey Adams one as well. Anyone have a link to it, or any information on what it covers?

I've got to order a few things from Al anyway, so i thought i'd consider throwing his maintenance DVD into the order, as long as it covers more than basic string changes etc.
