Hey All,

I'm having some trouble with adjusting my E-Eb lower on my P/P. I've read the P/P tuning thread numerous times, and am unfortunately stuck. I'm using the Newman tuning setup, tempering it. I tune the E's open at the peghead at 442.5, and want to lower my E-Eb to 440.5. I've got a ways to go in the learning department of tuning P/P guitars, but can dial in the raises no problem. Just can't figure out this lowering business.

This is what my tuning procedure was, with my current results:

1.) tune open E strings to 442.5
2.) tune again at keyhead (with B pedal and E-Eb lower engaged) to 440.5.

At this point, I have to release the pedal/lever, and tune the changer with the Allen wrench. I insert the wrench in the TOP row, and turn CLOCKWISE to raise the string pitch (Eb) back to an E in 442.5 hz.

Now, this is where I'm really stuck. My guitar's E-Eb lever now doesn't lower at all!!
What am I doing wrong here? Did I miss something really big in the P/P tuning thread??

Thanks in advance for any input.

-Michael

After re-reading the link Paul sent (thanks Paul), I figured out what I was doing wrong. Sorry for hogging up the Forum space with my ignorance!!
