Here's a fantastic collection of steel guitar instruction materials from the 1930's and 1940's, all in very good to excellent condition. Included are Parts One and Two of the Gibson System for Hawaiian Guitar, both in their original envelopes, Part Two still in its shipping band. Over 134 pages, these represent a wonderful slice of musical history, including advice to students and an incomparable group of photos, some of which I've posted below.
As well, I have four items from the Oahu E-Z Method series (Merrie Melodie, Near the Cross, Waltz of the Chords, and Waltz Exercise) and one from the Oahu Modern Note Method (Oahu Melody). There are also seven items from the Gibson Mastertone sytem (Koloa Moonlight; My Honolulu Girl; Swing of the Raindrops; Grandfather's Clock; Homeward Bound, When You and I Were Young, Maggie; and My Land of Dreams) As well as four pieces of steel guitar instruction from the Ontario Conservatory of Music (Red River Valley, Dreamy Hawaii, Too Fat, and Song of the Islands). Finally, Book Two of Alfred L. Greathouse's Hawaiian and Electric Guitar Course.
Apart from some notations in pen and pencil, all these items are in great shape. I've treasured these materials for years but am downsizing and need to let them go. I'm a careful packer and will ship within 24 hours of receiving payment. Please feel free to pm me for more information, photos or shipping charge. $60 U.S. plus actual shipping cost.
