Still setting up the Sierra Olympic.
Hopefully this crude chart will show raise and lowers are currently configured. I need help on what notes would be a must with what I have already setup. Pedal 8 is going to need a few parts before it can be configured. Thanks a million. _________________ Tele, Strat

I vote for straight-up C6 minus the pedal 8.

pedal 5 should also raise string 9 a half step. I would also raise both strings to F with pedal 4, or at least raise string 6. I use pedal 8 a lot too, it's good for a lot more than just boo-wah and 7#9 chords! _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster

I have a question about the first string. I see that some put a D instead of G. Is that a D note below the the G that I currently have? If so, what gauge string? Silly question probably but I have never had a C6 neck before. Looks like great fun. _________________ Tele, Strat

That is a D that is a whole step above the C on the 3rd string. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

Rather than raising the As on P4 I would raise the Cs* to C#. That would make up for the lack of a P8.
String 2 can be ,015 or .016 - it's not critical.
[EDIT - I originally said Bs which makes no sense. It's because I play B6] _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Just my 2 cents, but raising the Es on pedal 4 as you already have here works beautifully in conjunction with pedal 5. Gives you a "home" chord three frets up from open position. I use this as much as anything else on the C6 neck.
I would just wait on the parts for pedal 8 and set it up conventionally, rather than trying to add pulls on other pedals to imitate pedal 8.
Good luck! |
