I have a Presonus studio live mixer and use it most weekends live.
Setting it up and resetting it in my music room is a hassle.
I am looking at this Mackie Big Knob Studio Monitor Controller and Interface.
I want it to plug in with a USB and control monitors, headphones and input interface for a home studio.
Anyone have an experience comparing the two models?
Anything better out there?

unless you have 3 pairs of monitors, the larger one seems like overkill.
there are certainly boxes with better mic pres and a/d converters, but it really depends on how important that is and how much you want to spend. As with everything in the audio world, the sky's the limit. |

If the interface is intuitive to you, then one should start there.
You would best ask your Sweetwater techs their advice to use this with your present gear before leaping.
If you are using your gear for live and then bringing it back to the studio, it would be easier to get two systems.
Depending on how much you plan to spend and your needs the techs can dial in a system for you. Make sure you ask them as many questions you can think of and see if they answer them. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1

I got the Big Knob and it works great. I love it.
Haven't tried the input interface yet.
Pretty sure the Presonus preamps are better. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.
