Last Fall I picked up a D10 Franklin at a guitar show. Because it was very dirty, gummed up and had been made for someone who must've been REALLY tall, I had Mike Cass disassemble, refurbish and take it down to a normal height. I picked it up last week. Played it at a gig last night.

First thing I noticed was its sustain. Definitely more than any steel I've ever owned. No question there. Glides from one end of the neck to the other remained full and strong. It played very, very smooth and kept its tune as well as any Emmons p/p. Liked the string spacing. Gotta' try it with different amp setups.

First impression? A lot of steel guitar. A lot. But I need to woodshed more to bring my ability up to its level.

Number 17?

Sounds like you are having a lot of fun running wild around the museum. Post up sound clips when you can.
