I'm sure it's an excellent pedal for guitar and keyboard players, and completely wrong for steel.

Roger, I own 2 of them. Fantastic pedal!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

#1. It's built like a Sherman Tank

#2. It has a screw on the back of it so you can adjust
the tension on the drag of the pedal.

#3. It has a steel band that replaces aggravating strings associated with some other pedals.

#4. The tone is the exact same in the nearly off position as it is in the nearly wide open volume
(I love that part)

#5. It has a tuner output jack

#6. The price is as cheap as it gets.

Cons:

It’s not low profile. If you like an elevated steel seat (like I do) using this pedal may make you right leg hit the underside of the guitar.

But,,,,,,,,,,,, it is one great pedal.

. . . and the jacks are front-mounted, which
means that you'll hafta scoot it rearward from
the pedal-rack to accommodate cords plugged into it.

Geez Sid, first there's this business of using a flat pick, now this weird volume pedal... How do you expect to ever get any good at steel guitar if you don't start doing it like everybody else?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I hear ya.

Things like that have just never bothered me.

I went to a friends house Saturday (Chuck Campbell) that lives in Haymarket Virginia. I forgot my volume pedal.

He found and old Emmons pedal that wouldn't hookup to mine because I had removed all the hardware from my guitar.

He ended up attaching it to my guitar with a very large "C" clamp.

He thought that was so funny he took a picture of it.

And then you'll have to play it backwards. Whoa!

I've got 2. Great pedal. Tension is adjustable, making C6th dance easier. I recommend 2 though becase the steel bands break. My first lasted about a year, I paid to ship it back and they fix for free

Thanks Lane.

I Sent A Message To Dunlop, A few Days Ago, Asking Them If They Would Consider Making A Model For Steel Guitar Players, With The Jacks On The Right Side Of The Pedal.
I Let Them Know How Many steelers Are On The FORUM.

No Response Yet. Question

Steel bands broke on mine this weekend. The pedal was less than 2 years old and used very little. I got it mainly as a back up. No response from the manufacturer yet on repair options.

I have had mine on my electric guitar pedal board since they first came out. I like the big foot print.
For pedal steel? Not for me... I went with a Goodrich lowboy.

Dunlop has agreed to replace the steel bands in mine under warranty. I had to produce my original sales receipt and pedal s/n. Good customer service and I liked the pedal when I used it. As already mentioned, it is a tad on the tall side and needs right-angled cords to get it far enough forward under the steel.

Slightly OT, but I got a Morley optical (guitar) volume pedal to use in the mean time. Not bad....

I had been enjoying this pedal for the past six months with various guitars. Failed this morning. Another case of broken bands.
