Are those floor pedals a bit wider than standard? I'm referring to the end of the pedals that your foot/shoe touches. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

Hey Gary,
Can't believe you want to sell your Emmons! I'm sure it still looks like new and always sounded great at our steel jams. Someone is going to be very happy with this steel.
Hope you and Patty are doing well.

Hi Gary, sweet guitar.
Can you please explain what strings have the anti cabinet drop compensators on them?

|
The Emmons LeGrande III "anti-drop" feature works either on one neck or both of them. It does not work on a single string problem. Rather; It works on ALL strings when a given pedal is engaged; as long as a given pedal is hooked up to the anti-drop mechanism.
In this case it works on all 3 pedals on ALL 10 strings; so that none of the strings have "cabinet drop".
But then you may have been referring to Emmons' "compensators"; which works on a single string scenario. IE: you install one rod, one "O" ring and one tuner; for each string you wish to compensate. These compensators do NOT have anything to do with "anti-drop" problems.
Rather: it stops "Hysteresis", when a string is first raised (or lowered) and then the string is lowered (or raised). Hysteresis is caused by the length of the string beyond the nut; that does NOT completely come back over the roller; causing the string to be slightly sharp (or flat). This was proven when "keyless" guitars came into being. They do not have this problem; so it has to be beyond the rollers to the keyes; that causes the problem. _________________ A broken heart + † = a new heart. |
