At a gig last night I forgot to bring my slide. Borrowed a shot glass from the bartender. It was so wide I had to put both my 3rd & 4th fingers in it to keep it from falling off. But it did the job.

Great singer too!

A small tool bag from Harbor Freight lives in the back of my old Ford Explorer. In it is a Goodrich volume pedal, spare picks, a bar, cables, string winder, tuner, wire cutters, hex tuner, and extra strings.

Now, if it had only been parked in the parking lot of your gig...

A glass came before purpose-made slides. You were giving an historically authentic performance.

David, great video... It was nice seeing Meghan Shanley (Miss Virginia) in action again. I played some dates with here back here in her home state of Virginia. She's a great singer and very beautiful Christian girl who always used to do a gospel song on her gigs..........JH in Va.

I went out for a three week tour once, the bus pulled up to the studio and a bunch of guys were helping toss my stuff on board. I had the nagging feeling something got left behind, sure enough my pak seat was still sitting in the studio. I was able to borrow a glass slide, metal thumbpick, plastic fingerpicks, and an old Morley pedal wired to decrease volume on the down sweep (!) In short, everything sideways. Weirdest part was everyone who had seen the band before telling me it was the best I ever sounded!

I forgot my bar...once. Played with a shot glass for a set, then called wifey to bring me my bar from home. Twenty mile trip each way (and she was not happy).

Still have that shot glass (bartender said "keep it") and that bar...but not that wifey.

I guess two out'a three ain't bad. Laughing
