Clark, what amp was that? It's amazing what they charge now. Funny that guitar center can ship an amp for much less. They must get a special rate. |

Shipping prices are through the roof. I can't ship (almost) anything for less than $20. |

Large companies that ship a lot with a carrier do get special lower rates. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Clark - It might be worth your time to check with USPS, although they were about the same as FedEx or UPS the last time I checked with them. That was through a third party shipper, though. FedEx shipping is significanylt chealer if you have an account.
Jim Cohen - At first I just glanced at the topic title. I thought he said shlepping. Iwas excited. I thought I was going to learn some new technoqies for that. |

You might also consider shipping with Greyhound, as luggage. My dad once sent me a pair of snow tires in this fashion. One benefit I imagine is that they don't go to central sorting centers and get mass handled. Maybe just transferred from one bus to another. |

FedEx is the way to go. I shipped a rifle to Ca. by USPS and it cost $61. A few days later I shipped a rifle to Oregon by FedEx for $41. _________________ Bill |

You have got to watch third party shippers. I got fleeced by one in Locust NC to the tune of around $150.00 to ship a ten LB set of gas tanks to Montana last year - I didn't have time to go anywhere else, and the place was close to my work. I would definitely go to one of the big 3's offices. |

man, trying to get a guitar into canada is about $350-400 plus customs handling fee and the 15% tax. sure makes buying steels a challenge. |
