Selling my Carter Starter.
This guitar was not in the best of shape when I got it over a year ago.
Guitar was disassembled, cleaned and lubricated. Laminate was removed and original plywood neck was replaced by a solid piece of wood called in "Majo" in spanish. Very similar to maple.
Aluminum angles were used for decoration. Contact paper was removed from pedal bar. Pedal bar was lacquered and decorated with aluminum angles as well.
Entire wood parts were lacquered .
There is a small mark behind the bridge fingers where the wood cracked " hardly noticeable" during assembled but that was corrected although it was never retouched with paint.
When guitar was assembled and stringed I notice a much better and cleaner sound reproduced.
I really love the sound of this little Carter Starter. Guitar comes with three floor pedals and four knee levers. Total weight of the guitar when assembled is just about twenty pounds.
Asking $1,100.00 which includes shipping and insurance fees. Shipping only to the 48 continental U.S. Guitar does not have a case.

Just want to make clear that the guitar does not come with a case. As far as I know Carter never sold them with a case.

Jerry Roller on the forum sells cases for the Carter Starter. It usually takes a few weeks to get one, since they are made to order, but it's a nice case.

| For what it's worth, Carter did make an official hard case for the Starter that had to be ordered separately, I have one. But, It's probably lower quality than any other 3rd-party case that will fit it. For one, there is no divider... the legs and body are expected to fit into the same big compartment. Also, the top and bottom inside are padded with cheap foam (which also functions to hold the components into place). Finally, the original strap handle on mine would not hardly open up enough to get my fingers all the way underneath... I had to replace it with a bigger standard handle, similar to the one on my GFI case. |
