I just acquired this steel. I've seen lots of this model and owned a few, but this is the first one I've come across with a traditional "guitar" finish (brown with a bit of sunburst on the sides and peghead). Usually they're silver to mimic the earlier cast aluminum model, though I have seen pics of a blonde one with black binding and fancy fret markers.

My gut feeling is that this one was built after the silver ones, possibly at the end of the model's run, but I have no documentation one way or the other. Does anyone know for certain?

It's beautiful, regardless of what year it is !! Very Happy

Kinda interesting to see a horse shoe pickup on it..

While Vega did build genuine horseshoe pickups on some models, this one is actually an under-string unit with non-magnetic hand rests. This is the last one I owned, with the more usual silver finish:
