Hi !
I'm looking for new fretboards for my D10 Fessy. I'd love to have white fessenden fretboards or white Emmons atomic fretboards but the black ones could work either if I cant have the white ones.
anyones ? |

I believe you can get white Emmons fret boards from Jerry Roller. Original white Fessy boards may be a rare bird. |

Both Emmons and Fessy's are 24 1/4" however the fretboards may not be exactly the same size. |

The length of the fretboard is immaterial.
You measure the scale length from the nut to the bridge.

Thanks Erv,
than, 24 1/4 is what it is.
so 12 fret is half way, do I measure 12 1/8 and stick it there or am I missing something of the rocket science ? |

I usually just butt the end of the fretboard up to the roller nut and call it good.

Mickey Adams has a YouTube video that will help you on fretboard placement. |

Be very careful to place the 12th fret exactly half way. On a 24 1/4†scale the 12th fret has to be at exactly 12 1/8â€. I have black Emmons boards and can get white Emmons boards. They are 24 1/4†scale. You can see photos in my post in accessories for sale section of the forum. I will move it to top so you can find it easily. I would first try to get the Fessenden boards from Jerry Fessenden.

12 1/8" is where you center the new one at the 12th fret- that will minimize any discrepancy in the scale layout. I usually lay the fretboard down and position it appropriately, use tape to mark the edges where I want them to be, then remove the backing from the fretboard and put it down permanently. I have found several fretboards misplaced by more than 1/8" on some very prominent guitars. |
