Unknown Hula played on a Goldtone Lap Steel guitar fitted with a JAG CC style pickup. Open D tuning. I tried to get as close to an acoustic sound as possible with the tone control and little microcube amp. Hope you all enjoy!

Great job, Mike! You're getting a good, authentic Hawaiian tone and feel. The first part of the melody sounds a lot like "That's The Hawaiian In Me".

Mr. Holland! I really enjoyed that sir. Love the old Hawaiian tone of the guitar and your playing. You may have inspired me to learn yet another tune just as you did with Pua Rose. Thank you Mike.

Nice job Mike. I was curious about that tuning your using, is it a Dmaj7 tuning? How did you happen to come by it? Thanks...

What a wonderful performance Mike. It is very evident that Hawaiian Music had a great influence on you. Is that your own composition?

Roy, Jerry Byrd/Marty Robbins performed on a tv show doing a song called "Unknown Hula" with the steel tuned to C6/A7 according to Bazil. Here's the link...

Thank you everybody for your kind words and support. A couple of years ago I bought a Weissenborn and was trawling through YouTube looking for inspiration when I found this version by Kevin Brown.

I really liked it and learned to play it. I found out it was by the great Jerry Byrd, but Kevin put is own unique slant on the arrangement. I thought I would try it on Lap Steel for a bit of fun. The Dmaj7 tuning is from Kevins version but I since play it with open D tuning using a split slant.
Thanks again, Mike
